The Goddess & The Gatherer

FAQs

How many guests are at each dinner?

We keep each dinner to 30 guests to ensure a lively, yet intimate dining experience. If we have an odd number of tickets remaining, we may add an additional seat.

Do you share the menu before dinner?

Yes. Guests receive an email 7-10 days prior to the dinner with the menu. This allows guests to advise if they have an allergy or dietary restriction that needs to be accommodated. Each dinner’s menu is seasonally inspired and determined by the local ingredients available leading up to the dinner.  This allows for the freshest, most flavorful meal possible while supporting our local farmer and producer partners.  You can view past dinner menus HERE to get a feel for the chef’s style.

Why do we ask for guest emails?

To ensure that guests outside of the registrant’s household receive the email from us 10 days prior to the dinner, we ask that you share their email. We hold emails for our purposes only and do not share them with any outside parties.

How much is a seat at the table?

Each guest is $195 per.
Dinners are available to anyone 21 years and older.

Is gratuity included in the dinner price?

We do not include gratuity in our pricing.  We do, however, provide a space at our guestbook table for your consideration to show us your appreciation.

Are taxes and fees included in the pricing?

Yes, we have these items within the pricing.

Do I need to print the reservation receipt?

No printing is necessary. Reservation receipts are not mailed. We receive a notification as soon as you make reservations and you are added to our guest list for that dinner.

What is the cancellation policy?

All reservations are non-refundable. However, if you book a dinner and find that you need to cancel, we can transfer your seats to another available dinner during the same year. If no other date works for you, reservations for your original dinner can be transferred to family or friends, please notify us promptly. We have a waitlist and can help you if needed. In the case that your seats are indeed sold to another, and reimbursement is applied, a fee will be retained per our processing.

How do I get on the waitlist?

In the case where there is an opening for a SOLD-OUT dinner, we shall notify guests in order according to the time of their request. We move down the list if they are unavailable.   Please let us know if you would like to be added to the waitlist via email - thegoddessandthegatherer@gmail.com and indicate which upcoming dinner you would like to attend and the number of guests in your party if it becomes available.

What does the reservation include?

5-course carefully curated gourmet dinner with paired wines. Welcome cocktails and light appetizers are also included. Plus, we create an incredibly warm & comfortable atmosphere for you and your guests.

No outside alcohol

is permitted at The Goddess and The Gatherer Dinners.

Seating at the table

is at our discretion. Depending on the number of parties and the total in each party, it is our desire to seat all of our guests at a community table unless otherwise requested. It also depends on vignette displays at the venue at the time, determining our table placement.

Can dietary/allergy restrictions be accommodated?

We try to accommodate as best we can. Please note that The Goddess and The Gatherer is not a typical restaurant dining experience. The menu is tailored to what’s in season and all guests enjoy the same meal. If you or any of your guests that you are making a reservation for have an allergy or restriction, it is important to provide us with that information at the time of booking so Chef Katie can take these into consideration when planning the menu. Dietary restrictions not noted in advance of arrival may not be able to be accommodated.

Be aware that our kitchen is not allergen-free

If your allergy is deadly or poses serious health risks, it may be best to refrain from attending our dinner for your safety. We do our best to accommodate any dietary/allergy restrictions that we are advised of.

Do we need to make overnight accommodations?

The venue is approximately 45 minutes from the IL state line and a couple of miles south at the 421 exit off 94. We serve alcohol at our dinners, so we highly encourage guests to book accommodations nearby and turn it into a weekend adventure! Please refer to the suggested overnight locations on our site, plus there are numerous hotels near the exit.
